Arts Minister Peter Foss announced today that Ticketek Pty Ltd had been selected as the preferred proponent for the sale of BOCS Ticketing and Marketing Services.
It was envisaged that negotiations would be completed in early 2000 and a sale agreement finalised.
"I am keen to ensure that the interests of current BOCS staff, the Perth Theatre Trust and the Western Australian Arts community are protected in the sales agreement," Mr Foss said.
The BOCS network operates through a central telephone room and a network of outlets located in the Playhouse Theatre, Perth Concert Hall, His Majesty's Theatre, Subiaco Theatre Centre and Octagon Theatre, and agencies in the Regal Theatre, Burswood, Fremantle, Karrinyup, Booragoon, Midland, Woodvale and Rockingham.
In addition to selling tickets for Perth Theatre Trust venues, BOCS has contracts to sell tickets for a wide range of events and venues.
The decision to sell BOCS was made following a review of the network's operations by management consultants Arthur Andersen in liaison with the Perth Theatre Trust and was in line with current Government policy.
