Two new appointments have been made to the Bunbury Port Authority.

Transport Minister Eric Charlton said today that the terms of Mr Ray Anderson and Mr Neville Wilson expired on June 30 and they had been replaced by Mr George Newby and Mr Neville Eastman.

Mr Newby is a tug master with Stirling Marine Services and Mr Eastman an accountant who gained community prominence through his involvement in council, business and sports.

Each has been appointed to the authority for an initial period of two years.

Existing board members Mr John Willinge, the chairman, and Mr Luigi Tuia have had their terms extended for three years.

The fifth member of the board, Mr John Sullivan, has two years before his current term expires.

Mr Charlton acknowledged the contributions made by Mr Anderson and Mr Wilson, who between them served eight years on the authority board.

He said the placement of new appointees to port authorities would be part of an on-going process to assist the development of the authorities.
