Transport Minister Eric Charlton has appointed two new members to the Eastern Goldfields Transport Board.
Mr Doug Krepp, a local businessman and Kalgoorlie/Boulder City Councillor has been appointed to the board for a term of one year. He was nominated for the position by the city council.
Mr Kerry McAuliffe, a partner of Phillips Fox solicitors, has also been appointed for one year. He is the current chairman of the Western Australian Meat Industry Authority.
Mr Charlton said both men would bring business experience and local knowledge to the board, which acted as the decision-making body for the well-respected Goldenlines Bus Service. Their appointments meant that Kalgoorlie business people were now in the majority on the board.
The other three members of the board were Mr Ian McCullough who had been re-appointed as chairman for a further two years. He was joined by fellow member Mr Paul Robson, a former city councillor and local pharmacist.
A Department of Transport representative, Mr Mal Pascoe, was the deputy chairman and had been appointed for a term of one year.
"I look forward to the board actively pursuing its corporate objectives," Mr Charlton said.
