1/5/01
Racing and Gaming Minister Nick Griffiths today announced the appointment of Anne Conti to the Board of the Lotteries Commission.
Ms Conti's appointment will take effect immediately and will expire on December 31, 2001. She will replace Jennifer Rogers who retired from the board after her term expired. The appointment was approved by Cabinet yesterday.
Ms Conti is currently a councillor in the City of Swan and a board member of the Constitutional Centre of Western Australia. She has served as the Honorary State President of Save the Children Fund, as a member of the Advisory Board to the State Theatre Company, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and the WA Opera Company.
She was a member of the Commission on Government, 1994 -1996. For eight years she was a newsreader for Swan Television and before that a television announcer for the ABC.
"I am delighted that Anne Conti accepted my invitation to join the board of the Lotteries Commission," Mr Griffiths said.
"Anne's experience in community and public life, particularly in the field of arts, will make a valuable and positive contribution to the Lotteries Commission.
"I welcome Ms Conti to the board and look forward to her involvement in the future of the Lotteries Commission in WA."
