Consumer and Employment Protection Minister John Kobelke today congratulated vendors and the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) following the annual pre-inspection of popular Royal Show showbags.
"Once again there have been no problems identified in the record 228 showbags available at this year's Royal Show," Mr Kobelke said.
"This underlines the strong commitment the Royal Show and vendors have to ensuring safety in showbag products is part of an enjoyable show."
The Minister said the close co-operation between the RAS and the department helped ensure each type of showbag was safe for the children who bought them.
There were no dangerous items found in any showbags this year.
Suppliers were reminded that proper warning labels needed to be included on showbags to help parents select bags appropriate for their child's age.
Mr Kobelke said the inspection helped guard against unsafe toys before they got in the hands of children, especially those aged under three.
But he warned nothing replaced the vigilant eye of a parent to make sure their child was not misusing a toy.
Inspectors will carry out random checks of show bags throughout show week to ensure high safety standards are maintained.

Children from years three, five and seven at Boyare Primary School in Mirrabooka attended the show bag check to sample this year's range of showbags and give their opinions on their pick of the most popular bags.
