Tickets to theatre performances, concerts and sporting events can now be purchased online 24 hours a day, seven days a week through a new BOCS Ticketing website, http://www.bocsticketing.com.au.
Launching the new website today, Culture and the Arts Minister Sheila McHale said for the first time show-goers had a convenient alternative to the tradition of 'camping out' for tickets.
"This new online ticketing service will be more convenient for ticket buyers and enhance the marketing potential for arts, entertainment and sporting events," Ms McHale said.
Patrons wanting to purchase tickets online can select their preferred date and time, part of house, ticket price and number of tickets.
"The security of online credit card transactions is protected utilising the Department of Treasury and Finance's SalesNet facility, which is used by other Government agencies," the Minister said.
Visitors to the site will be able to browse for event information by date, category, venue or alphabetical listing, or conduct specific searches based on tailored criteria.
Information on transport and parking for specific venues is also available.
"BOCS Ticketing has a reputation as one of the best ticketing agencies in Australia and is particularly valued in Western Australia for its local knowledge of venues and arts organisations," Ms McHale said.
The development of the new ticketing website demonstrates the State Government's commitment to increasing the marketing of what WA has to offer in the arts on an international scale and making Perth a better place to live.
Other improvements include:

  • upgrade of the call centre from 12 ticket sellers to 25 ticket sellers;
  • increase in the number of direct telephone lines to buy tickets to special or large events; and
  • upgrade of software and hardware.
West Australian Opera general manager Carolyn Chard welcomed the new service.
"The BOCS online ticketing service is welcomed by the company, as it will enable patrons to purchase tickets 24 hours a day, at their convenience, in what appears to be a user-friendly environment," Ms Chard said.
