Health Minister Bob Kucera today congratulated the Bentley Health Service on its fourth accreditation from the Australian Council on Health Care Standards (ACHCS).
Mr Kucera said the accreditation was a reflection of the commitment displayed by the staff at Bentley to providing quality health services and high standards of care.
"The achievement of this award is clear recognition that there is a culture of continuous improvement in service delivery throughout the Bentley Health Service," he said.
"It is to their credit that administrators and staff have shown such determination in the quest for excellence and high standards."
Mr Kucera said that in the accreditation process, the ACHCS addressed the issues of direct patient care, staff, information management, environment and leadership.
"The final report from the surveyors praised many of the programs, strategies and services provided by the Bentley Health Service," he said.
"Some of these included widespread consumer involvement and the promotion and protection of consumer rights and responsibilities.
"The surveyors also made mention of contract management and risk management processes, specifically occupational health and safety, injury management, manual handling, ergonomics and infection control."
Mr Kucera said the health service would continue to ensure that the care provided met the needs, wants and expectations of patients and their families.
