Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan has called on parties involved in the stoppage of bus services in the south-western suburbs and Mandurah to urgently resolve their differences and resume normal services.
"We have been actively working with both parties to get them back to the negotiating table," Ms MacTiernan said.
"We can't afford to miss any opportunity to get the buses back on the road quickly.
"Public transport is important in making our city work properly, especially for people who don't have use of a private vehicle to access services, employment and entertainment."
The Minister said people should be aware that all rail, ferry and bus services outside the area between the river, the Kwinana Freeway and the coast were still operating normally.
Express services to the city from the Park and Ride at Gateway Shopping Centre at Thomsons Lake, and the Murdoch Park and Ride - which were not operated by SCT - were running as normal.
"We have arranged for buses to continue to operate along the Fremantle line at night when train services are disrupted by sleeper replacement activity," Ms MacTiernan said.
The Transperth Information Line (InfoLine 13 62 13) can provide customers with information on specific services affected by the strike, and call centre staff will be able to identify possible alternative routes.
Ms MacTiernan said additional call centre staff had been employed, but InfoLine callers should be patient as calls had increased significantly.
