Community Television Perth reaches another milestone

Community Television Perth (CTV Perth) today reached another significant milestone in its nine-year history when it celebrated the opening of its new premises at the Old Swan Barracks in Northbridge.
CTV Perth were also presented with a grant from the Lotteries Commission. The extra funding, totally $186,000 will enable the purchasing of new production equipment. It will include cameras, lights and edit suites.
Racing and Gaming Minister Nick Griffiths today officially opened the new premises and said that the new home for CTV Perth was very appropriate given its location in the heart of Perth's cultural precinct.
"Community Television Perth is at the forefront of community television in Australia," Mr Griffiths said.
"CTV Perth provides opportunities for local people to express themselves on screen. This work is a valuable contribution to the cultural life in Western Australia.
"The Lotteries Commission has been a major supporter of CTV Perth over the years.
"The new funding will mean further opportunities for community groups from a variety of backgrounds will be able to communicate with the Western Australian public."
