Contractors shortlisted for Geraldton Southern Transport Corridor

Geraldton's Southern Transport Corridor has reached another key project milestone today.
Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan announced that four companies have been short-listed for the $88million design and construct contract.
Ms MacTiernan said the short-listed companies/consortia were:

  • Barclay Mowlem Macmahon Contractors Joint Venture;
  • GTC Consortium;
  • Leighton Downer Geraldton Joint Venture; and
  • Thiess Pty Ltd.
"Main Roads plans to issue these companies with a Request for Proposal in mid-December 2002, after the Government has considered the outcomes of the Geraldton Port Enhancement Project mediation process," Ms MacTiernan said.
"This will enable us to make a clear decision on the rail unloading arrangements within the port.
"With this timetable, stage one of the transport corridor is still on track for completion in 2005."
