Well-known and longstanding former mayor of Bunbury, Dr Ernie Manea, has today accepted Education and Training Minister Alan Carpenter's offer to name Bunbury's new $14millon senior technical campus, Manea College.
Manea College was part of the Gallop Government's $51million education and training plan for Bunbury announced by the Minister today.
Mr Carpenter said Dr Manea's contribution to the Bunbury region and local government was legendary.
"Dr Manea has a long association with the City of Bunbury through his former role as mayor," the Minister said.
"He also played a pivotal role in establishing the Edith Cowan University Bunbury campus.
"It is fitting that someone of his status in the community be permanently associated with a facility dedicated to providing opportunities for future generations."
