Health Minister Bob Kucera has officially opened the new Landsdale Ambulance Centre.
The newest St John Ambulance depot, in Alexander Drive, will service one of Western Australia's major growth areas.
Mr Kucera said the modern, purpose-built complex represented a commitment by St John Ambulance to ensure that an increasing number of medical and emergency services were based in local communities.
"There is a commitment to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and geographically diverse population in the specialised area of pre-hospital care and patient transport," he said.
"Population growth in the northern corridor over the last decade had made it essential to locate an additional ambulance crew in the northern metropolitan area."
Mr Kucera said the new northern ambulance crew had worked from rented premises until the completion of the new complex at Landsdale.
"Since moving to those initial temporary premises, the Landsdale crew has already begun to fill the increasing demand," he said.
"It is now as busy as crews in the surrounding centres of Joondalup and Midland.
"In addition, the new centre has been planned to take in future growth with room for four vehicles and their crews."
