Government Enterprises Minister Nick Griffiths today announced a major commitment of Lotteries funding for victims of the Bali bombings and families affected by the tragedy.
The announcement follows a decision by the board of the Lotteries Commission to set aside up to $500,000 in response to the terrorist bombing.
Mr Griffths made the announcement at the opening of 'The Niche' - a new Lotteries-funded facility in Nedlands, which accommodates 17 health-related community organisations.
"The Lotteries Commission has set aside up to $500,000 towards meeting the future needs of the victims and their families of the recent terrorist attack in Bali," he said.
"Over the next few weeks, the commission will work with the relevant Government organisations and community organisations, to determine how much of this funding will be required and how it can be best spent to benefit those affected by this heart-breaking disaster."
