Minister presents lottery grant to Centrecare Marriage and Family Services
30/3/01
Lotteries Minister Nick Griffiths today presented Centrecare Marriage and Family Services with a Lottery Commission grant for $386,294. The grant will cover half the costs of development of new services and enhancement of existing services.
The majority of the money will go towards the development of construction of new premises in Cannington from which Centrecare will be able to deliver a variety of accommodation and counselling services. Funding will also be used to establish a men's counselling web site.
"Centrecare has proven itself to be an effective and essential provider of services to the community," Mr Griffiths said.
"The new Labor Government is delighted to continue its support for Centrecare and to develop further relationships with the voluntary sector."
The Minister said that these improvements would not be possible without funding from the Lotteries Commission.
"The Lottery continues to be an integral provider of resources for social services from which the whole community benefits," he said.
