The members of the new WorkCover Western Australia Authority (WWAA) have been appointed to oversee the State's workers' compensation system, including the Gallop Government's major reforms.
Consumer and Employment Protection Minister John Kobelke said the formal appointments of the seven-member authority were made yesterday by the Governor.
"This new authority will be headed by chairman Tony Cooke, who has a wealth of experience in workers' compensation over more than 20 years," Mr Kobelke said.
The other members of WWAA will be Daryl Cameron, Janine Freeman, Graham Greig and Victoria Wilmot, along with the CEO of WorkCover WA and the director general of the Department of Consumer and Employment Protection.
The Minister said he was confident the new authority would make a significant contribution administering the important and sensitive area of workers' compensation.
"I would like to thank members of the previous administrative commission for their service and contribution to the development of the new system," he said.

Mr Kobelke also confirmed that Adrian Warner had been chosen as the new chief executive officer of WorkCover WA, following a comprehensive Public Service selection process.
"Mr Warner is currently working with the Government Employees Superannuation Board," the Minister said.
"It is an important time for WorkCover WA, with implementation beginning in the New Year for the workers' compensation reforms passed by Parliament in late October.
"The current acting CEO of WorkCover WA, Diane Munrowd, played a crucial role over the past three and a half years, in developing the significant improvements to WA's workers' compensation and I appreciate her dedication and professional commitment in this task."
