The full range of Government services provided by the Department for Planning and Infrastructure is now available from the one location in Geraldton.
Officially opening the department's new regional office in the Mid-West today, Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan said the facility provided people in the region with a 'one-stop shop' for doing business with the Department.
Ms MacTiernan said services provided through the office would include:

  • Licensing Services - vehicle, driver and marine;
  • Planning - subdivision, State and Regional planning and approvals;
  • Marine Safety and Information;
  • Maritime facilities - commercial and recreational;
  • Passenger services information - public transport, taxis, travel subsidies and school buses;
  • Personal transport information - cycling, walking and TravelSmart;
  • Road Safety; and
  • Commercial services - freight transport and aviation policy.
"This is a major step forward in improving the level of service the department offers to its customers throughout the region," Ms MacTiernan said.
"Our customers will no longer have to travel to three different places to access various services offered by the department.
"Apart from significant cost savings, integrating the delivery of planning and transport services is an important objective in creating the new Department for Planning and Infrastructure."
The new office, at 65 Chapman Road, will be staffed Monday to Friday, between 8.15am and 4.30pm.
It replaces the Licensing Office on Northwest Coastal Highway, planning services in the Geraldton Shopping Centre and transport services formerly located in Marine Terrace.
