Tourists will benefit from the new Mandurah-Collie touring map, produced for the first time by the Department of Land Information (DLI).
Land Information Minister Nick Griffiths said the map, which featured extensive coverage of the area between Mandurah and Collie, would help prevent some of the holiday stress associated with uncertainty about facilities and roads.
"The Mandurah-Collie touring map will appeal to tourists because it clearly identifies all the main tourist attractions," Mr Griffiths said.
"It shows accommodation details and descriptions of some of the more popular tourist attractions such as camping and fishing spots."
Collie MLA Mick Murray said the new map would be perfect for anyone holidaying or just driving through the towns.
"The Mandurah-Collie map is packed with holiday information and even locals are likely to find something new about their own patch," Mr Murray said.
The Mandurah-Collie Touring map is one of a series of DLI's touring and road maps that cover the entire State.
Other maps recently released include the South-West Corner, Batavia Coast and the Mid-West.
All DLI's touring and town maps feature land use and official locality names, as well as road and rail information, boundaries such as Local Government and National Parks and town features such as access for people with disabilities, emergency services and churches.
All maps are available from DLI (ph: 9273 7555); email: sales@dli.wa.gov.au, or shop online at http://www.landonline.com.au
The maps are also available from selected tourist bureaux, visitor centres and retail outlets.
