New improvements to Fuelwatch service for regional WA
28/8/01
The Government has introduced another tool for motorists who wish to find the best fuel prices in regional Western Australia, Consumer Protection Minister John Kobelke said today.
"FuelWatch has expanded to include average fuel prices for petroleum products being sold by retail fuel outlets in nominated country areas of WA", Mr Kobelke said.
"By visiting the Government's website consumers can see on the new Regional Home Page the average daily price for each fuel product as well as the actual prices, allowing a firm buying choice to be made."
The FuelWatch service that started January 1 this year covers the metropolitan area and 24 major regional areas, providing free petroleum pricing information on the Internet, a telephone service and three major television networks. It has received 6.5 million hits.
Consumers can contact FuelWatch for the cost of a local call on 1300 55 08 08 or the Internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
