A new primary school will be built in Ellenbrook to provide permanent facilities for the school, which is currently operating in leased offices.
Education and Training Minister Alan Carpenter and Housing and Works Minister Tom Stephens jointly announced that tenders for the new school would be called later this month.
The school is one of several schools to be built or redeveloped in readiness for the start of the 2004 school year.
The school will be built in the new residential sub-division in Ellenbrook Village 5 and will be based on the well-proven standard pattern primary school design.
It will comprise 12 general teaching areas, two pre-primary areas and a kindergarten area.
In addition, an administration block with staff facilities, art room, music room library, dental therapy unit and covered assembly area with canteen will be provided.
Outdoor facilities will include two multi-purpose hardcourts, two cricket practice nets and an oval with a cricket pitch.
The site is located adjacent to the Swan City Council playing fields, with a carpark that will be available to the school and the local community.
Tenders will be invited later this month following an expression of interest phase for contractors.
It is estimated the project will cost about $5million.
