Art and design work from Western Australia's top young artists will be on display at the Central TAFE art gallery for the annual Young Originals Exhibition.
Now in its 15th year, the free exhibition provides public secondary school students with the opportunity to have their work put on show for the public to see.
Education and Training Minister Ljiljanna Ravlich said the exhibition showcased the high standard of art and design work being produced by public school students in WA.
"A wide variety of artwork will be on display including ceramics, furniture, graphic design, jewellery, textiles, creative photography, painting, sculpture, print-making, and more," Ms Ravlich said.
"I encourage the public to visit the exhibition and have a look at the budding talent and creativity among students in our public school system.
"While the artwork will not be priced, interested buyers can talk to the artists about buying their pieces after the exhibition."
The Minister also said the Department of Education and Training would purchase some of the artwork.
Art and design work for the exhibition is selected on creativity and technical execution by a selection panel co-ordinated by senior curriculum consultant for the arts Digby de Bruin.
The exhibition will run from September 19 to October 13, and is open Monday to Friday from 10am to 4.45pm, and Saturday and Sunday 2pm to 5pm, except public holidays.
The Central TAFE art gallery is located at 12 Aberdeen Street, Perth.
