Education and Training Minister Alan Carpenter has announced that the new 'Raising the School Leaving Age' website will be online from today.
Speaking in Parliament this week, Mr Carpenter said the new website was part of an extensive consultation process on the leaving age, which also included public forums, written submissions and targeted stakeholder meetings.
The dedicated website is accessible through the Minister's own website: http://www.ministers.wa.gov.au/carpenter and http://www.det.wa.edu.au
"The website will provide a wealth of information on one of the most significant changes proposed to education and training in Western Australia," Mr Carpenter said.
"The website details the many opportunities available to the WA community to contribute to the debate on raising the school leaving age."
Mr Carpenter said providing a strong education and training system was a responsibility for the whole community and one in which many groups should become involved.
"Government needs the support of schools, TAFE colleges, parents, community groups, universities, employers and other training providers - we all need to play a part," he said.
"I urge people from all over the State to get involved and have their say on this very important issue."
