Scoop Traveller Magazine launched

Western Australia will benefit from a new level of worldwide exposure with today's launch of the Scoop Traveller Magazine.
Launching the magazine, Tourism Minister Clive Brown said building on the success of Scoop Magazine, the Western Australian lifestyle magazine that had enjoyed a strong following during the past five years, Scoop Traveller Magazine was designed to encourage travel to regional WA.
"Any increase in visitation brings with it obvious economic benefits, and more jobs for WA," Mr Brown said.
"As well as enticing locals to get out and about, Scoop Traveller Magazine will attract more interstate and international visitors to WA."
Scoop Traveller Magazine will be published four times a year, with 25,000 copies of each edition.
It will promote Perth and WA as a high-quality, sophisticated and exciting tourism destination, with information about accommodation, tours and local attractions.
"There is no doubt we have a wealth of fantastic tourist offerings in WA, and now we have a fantastic new vehicle to help get that message out," Mr Brown said.
The magazine will be available in WA hotels, local newsagencies, interstate and overseas.
The first issue of Scoop Traveller Magazine is due to hit the streets in mid May 2003 and will cost $4.95.
