A Bali memorial project in the City of Joondalup has received a $100,000 boost from the State Government.
The Lotterywest money will help pay for the redevelopment of the Kingsley Football Club and Community Centre that will incorporate a special Bali memorial.
Premier Geoff Gallop said he took great pleasure in providing $100,000 to the project on behalf of the State Government.
The Kingsley Memorial Project evolved as a local community response to the Bali terrorist attacks on October 12, 2002.
The Kingsley Football Club lost seven of its members as a direct result of the Bali bombings.
Dr Gallop paid tribute to the local community's desire to honour those who died.
"The impact of the tragic events in Bali on the local community has been significant and has prompted a groundswell of support for those who died, their families and their friends," he said.
"The construction of a memorial within the redevelopment of the Football Club's clubrooms and community centre is a fitting tribute.
"Over the last six months, the City of Joondalup and the local community have been consulting widely and working tirelessly to make the project a success and I congratulate them on their commitment."
The Kingsley Memorial Project has already received in-kind support and cash donations to the value of $325,000. The City of Joondalup is contributing $156,000 and is overseeing the project.

The Premier presented the cheque for $100,000 to the Mayor of the City of Joondalup, Don Carlos, Kingsley Football Club President, Brian Anderson and Kingsley Football Club coach, Simon Quayle.
The presentation took place at the State Government's Bali Memorial site at Kings Park where the Premier was showing retired Kangaroos AFL player Jason McCartney the plans for the project.
Mr McCartney suffered serious burns as a result of the Bali bombings and three weeks ago recovered to play one last heroic game of senior AFL football for the Kangaroos.
