More than 40,000 students will walk through the doors in semester one at the newly formed Swan TAFE.
Swan TAFE was the result of the merger of South East Metropolitan College of TAFE, Midland College and the Balga campus of West Coast College of TAFE.
Education and Training Minister Alan Carpenter said the merger provided a greater choice and educational expertise for industry and students.
"Swan is now one of the most diverse TAFE colleges in Australia," Mr Carpenter said.
"It will deliver over 500 nationally recognised qualifications and provide 220 study categories for about 25,000 students.
"Courses will range from aviation, fashion and hospitality through to equine management, engineering and mining."
Swan TAFE will also have more than14,000 adult students enrolled in hundreds of life-long learning and recreational courses.
"Swan TAFE will cater to students in secondary school, school leavers, mature students as well as international and indigenous students," Mr Carpenter said.
"It will be a leader in international education and training and in recent years has had more than 5,000 overseas students from 45 countries enrolled in courses.
"Its strong relationships with more than 650 industries and businesses across Western Australia and overseas will ensure industry demands are met.
"For example, tailored programs are being developed to respond to airport security and the planned industrial expansion of the Burrup Peninsula.
"Swan TAFE will contribute significant educational, economic and social benefits to the people of WA."
