Fire damage at Wattle Grove PS condemned

Education Minister Kay Hallahan today visited Wattle Grove primary school to inspect damage caused by a fire at the weekend.

Mrs Hallahan said the fire was a despicable act of vandalism which had devastated the school community.

She said the school's resource centre had been completely destroyed in the blaze.

"The Government has provided a teacher/librarian for at least two weeks to help the school reassemble resource materials," she said.

"In addition, a transportable building will be provided to serve as a new resource centre.

"The Ministry of Education will provide any necessary support to ensure students' education is not adversely affected by this terrible incident."
