Govt to fight Bond Corp litigation in court
The State Government is not considering an out-of-court settlement of Bond Corporation litigation.
Premier Carmen Lawrence said today that the Government would fight the litigation in court.
"An unsourced report in The Australian newspaper that an out-of-court settlement is being considered by the Government is untrue," Dr Lawrence said.
"The State Government has not considered and does not propose to consider offers of out-of-court settlements."
Dr Lawrence said the Government believed there were good prospects for a petrochemical industry in Western Australia.
"Suggestions that current litigation presents obstacles to proponents for a private sector petrochemical industry are wrong."
