New student hostel for Morawa Agricultural High School
Work is due to start on the $2 million project to build a student hostel at the Morawa Agricultural District High School, Education Minister Kay Hallahan said today.
Mrs Hallahan said the new hostel would provide residential accommodation for 40 students attending the school.
"The buildings have been designed to cater for male and female students undertaking the agricultural course at the school," she said.
"In addition to student accommodation, there will be an amenity building with a kitchen, dining area and administration facilities, a warden's residence and accommodation for two supervisors."
The hostel - to be built by Cooper and Oxley Construction Company - will cost a total of $2.2 million and will be ready for the 1993 school year.
"The provision of this first-class facility demonstrates the Government's strong commitment to education, particularly in country areas," she said.
