Review of 1986 draft policy for Perth under way
Plans for an exciting and vibrant city centre are being drawn together to guide Perth's future.
Planning Minister David Smith said today that he expected a review of the 1986 draft policy for the Perth central area to be available by March next year.
"The Government and Perth City Council are working jointly on the review for the Central Planning Committee," Mr Smith said.
"Projects like the East Perth Redevelopment, City Challenge, the Perth Foreshore Competition and the Inner City Living Report have generated considerable public debate.
"The quality of the debate and the calibre of ideas presented through various public forums have been impressive.
"The review will draw all of these ideas and initiatives together in a comprehensive vision for Perth's future."
Mr Smith said members of the public could view and comment on preliminary plans during an exhibition that was planned to be held in Forrest Place in the New Year.
