Tribute to late Lang Hancock

Lang Hancock will be remembered as a driving force in Australia's mining industry, Western Australian Mines Minister Gordon Hill said today.

"While he was sometimes provocative, he was always forthright and of a determined nature," Mr Hill said.

"He was a pioneer of modern exploration in Western Australia and made an outstanding contribution in attracting the world's attention to the Pilbara region.

"I send most sincere condolences to his family."
