  • 85 per cent of settled lots were below income-based land affordability measures

The Golden Bay Ladder is set to officially open this Sunday, 27 November, where fitness enthusiasts and nature lovers in Perth's southern suburbs will have access to their own "Jacob's Ladder".

Golden Bay's Ladder, which forms part of a parkland design that was voted on by residents, includes over 100 steps and features 360-degree views of the coast, bushland and community from its peak.

The new ladder is part of the parkland development at Golden Bay Estate, developed by leading Australian property developer Peet Limited and DevelopmentWA. The new Treehouse Cove playground includes interlinking walking trails throughout the park and an all-abilities path for the community to enjoy.

Golden Bay has provided a significant amount of quality social and affordable housing. Since its inception nearly 85 per cent of settled lots were below income-based land affordability measures, while one in 9 lots have been retained for social housing.

Golden Bay has been carefully planned to encourage inclusivity and innovation, and this year was awarded the Excellence in Social & Community Infrastructure award at the Urban Development Institute of Australia WA Awards. Golden Bay also took out the highly coveted Russell Perry Award for Urban Development Excellence.

In addition to the Golden Bay Ladder structure, access points and paths have been designed to suit people of all abilities, enabling all residents to enjoy the amenity.

Located 60km south of Perth, Golden Bay has a significant market influence in the south-west metropolitan corridor with its strong focus on diversity, community, affordability and accessibility. Residents have direct access to Golden Bay Beach and are just a short drive to the thriving hub of Rockingham and Mandurah City Centre.
