Construction of the centre at 29-35 Chapel Street, Baldivis is expected to commence in 2018 and is due for completion by mid-2019.

Baldivis South Community Centre will cater for the rapidly growing community and will include a hall, kitchen and indoor and outdoor children's activity spaces.

The multi-purpose hub will facilitate a wide range of community activities and uses, including meetings and events, arts and cultural activities, playgroups, leisure and recreation.

With a focus on families with young children, the centre will also feature two consultation rooms providing space for the provision of support services.

The centre will be managed by the City of Rockingham and will be available to the community seven days a week.

Comments attributed to Premier Mark McGowan:

"Over the past decade, the City of Rockingham population has grown dramatically and is now home to more than 130,000 residents.

"The Baldivis South Community Centre will provide a whole new range of facilities, creating more opportunities for local residents, people from surrounding areas and community groups to interact.

"The State Government, though Lotterywest, is pleased to have contributed to this welcomed community development."

Comments attributed to Baldivis MLA Reece Whitby:

"I know the State Government is committed to providing much-needed quality infrastructure for the people of Baldivis.

"The Premier and I understand the real need for quality infrastructure and services is in our new and growing outer suburbs.

"Baldivis is booming with sporting clubs and community groups which need a place to operate from and this is a fantastic addition to our community.

"Generations of Baldivis children can now look forward to active and healthy childhoods as they grow up around this facility."
