Planning and design works have started for the new $17.8 million South Regional TAFE's Esperance campus, with HASSELL announced today as the architects for the project.

The new campus will be built on land adjacent to the high school oval to support students access to vocational education and training programs.

It will include special purpose classrooms, computer laboratories and simulated industry training environments for community services and nursing/aged care.

Metal fabrication and engineering, light automotive and building construction students will benefit from new trade workshops fitted with industry relevant training equipment.

HASSELL will consult with South Regional TAFE to ensure the campus provides industry relevant training facilities to support the needs of the Esperance region and boost local job opportunities.

Construction of the new campus will start in 2020-2021 and is expected to open to students in Semester 1, 2022.
