Civil engineering company invests in Northam manufacturing hub
- Civil engineering companyReinforced Earth has purchased a 4.02ha site at DevelopmentWA's Avon IndustrialPark.
- The site will become amanufacturing hub and will create up to 22 new jobs during and afterconstruction
National civil engineeringcompany Reinforced Earth is building a new Western Australian manufacturing hubnear Northam after purchasing a 4.02 hectare site at DevelopmentWA's AvonIndustrial Park, east of the town's centre.
Reinforced Earthspecialises in the design and supply of proprietary retaining wall solutionsand buried concrete arches widely used in the mining and civil market.
They will build variouscustom engineered products at the site at Avon Industrial Park and will employup to 10 people with plans to expand in the future.
Northam is the gateway toWA's Goldfields and also has road access to the iron ore-rich Pilbara whileonly being 90 minutes from Perth.
Avon Industrial Park is a200ha estate adjacent to the Great Eastern Highway and Trans-AustralianRailway.
Created specifically tomeet the needs of businesses servicing the rural, resources and mineralprocessing markets, it is part of a wider 470ha park developed in partnershipwith the Wheatbelt Development Commission and the Avon Community DevelopmentFoundation.
Businesses already locatedwithin the Park include DE Engineers, Waste Equipment Solutions, Coast to CoastTruck Wreckers, CHC Scaffolding, Interquip, Precision Mechanical and NashMining & Civil Equipment Rental.
Adding to the appeal forbusinesses is the Shire of Northam's Industry Attraction Fund, which offersgrants of up to $1 million to bring new businesses to the local area andsupport existing businesses in regional expansion.
Stage 2 general industriallots of up to 10.6ha at Avon Industrial Park are available, with requirementsfor larger lots within the estate able to be discussed with DevelopmentWA. Lotsare priced from $240,000 excluding GST for a 2.7ha site.
Stage 2 lots are connectedto power and scheme water, as well as access to broadband communications.
