Forrestfield Police Station to increase opening hours from May 8
- Forrestfield Police Station will be open for longer from Monday, May 8
Expanded opening hours will meet key election commitment
Expanded service will ensure improved community access to police
Forrestfield Police Station will be open to 7pm on weekdays from May 8, 2017, meeting a key election commitment by the McGowan Labor Government.
The increased level of service will ensure the community has greater in-person access to police assistance.
The expanded opening hours at Forrestfield Police Station is part of the McGowan Labor Government's commitment to deliver expanded opening hours at Belmont, Canning Vale and Forrestfield police stations.
Comments attributed to Police Minister Michelle Roberts:
"Today, I am pleased to announce that the Forrestfield Police Station will be open until 7pm on weekdays from May 8, 2017.
"By expanding the opening hours of the Forrestfield Police Station, we are providing more options to those people who need to access the police station after work, something the original 8am-4pm opening hours simply didn't allow for.
"This meets a key election commitment and will ensure the community has greater access to police services in-person.
"The McGowan Labor Government is focused on delivering a police service that is responsive to community needs, reduces crime, delivers better response times and brings more offenders to justice.
"I would like to thank the Member for Forrestfield Stephen Price for the work he did during the election campaign in the Forrestfield electorate, as it is through that campaigning that we have been able to identify what the local residents needed, and deliver it."
Comments attributed to Forrestfield MLA Stephen Price:
"The people of Forrestfield made it clear to me they wanted better access to police services, and the Labor Government promised to make that happen - and we are delivering on that promise.
"Local residents will now have greater access to speak to a police officer in-person, something which is still an important part of community policing and something that the Forrestfield community said they needed."
