"I am delighted that the McGowan Labor Government and the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder have been able to draw up this arrangement to assure the future of the Goldfields Arts Centre.
"The centre is the only multi-functional arts venue in the Goldfields region and I believe it has a key role in promoting culture and the arts in what is Australia's largest outback city and the wider region."
Comments attributed to Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:
"Cultural industries play a big role in the strength of regional communities - they add dynamism for residents and generate tourism and events jobs.
"For these reasons we have committed to finding Royalties for Regions support to keep the Goldfields Arts Centre a major attractor for the golden regional City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder."
