Comments attributed to Premier Mark McGowan:
"Graham "Polly" Farmer was an iconic Western Australian. From tough beginnings, he rose to become one of the greatest football players in the game.
"It is fitting that we honour Polly and his legacy with a State Funeral service.
"He rightly believed all Aboriginal children should be able to reach their potential, and established the Graham "Polly" Farmer Foundation to help young Aboriginal people follow their dreams.
"The Foundation has helped transform the lives of thousands of young Aboriginal people, from throughout Australia, often from disadvantaged backgrounds, to achieve personal and educational development that may not have happened without Polly's Foundation and legacy.
"I invite members of the public to attend the service, to pay their respects to a legendary Western Australian."
