Roadworks pave the way for Albany Middleton Beach development

The revitalisation of Albany's iconic Middleton Beach has now started, with roadworks under way in coming weeks.

The revitalisation of Albany's iconic Middleton Beach has now started, with roadworks under way in coming weeks.

A contract to construct the new section of Flinders Parade, which runs along the Middleton Beach foreshore, has been awarded to locally based business Tricoast Civil, with landscaping works to be completed by Environmental Industries.

The realignment of Flinders Parade is necessary to provide more functional space for development of the Middleton Beach Activity Centre, including a new hotel and public realm, without impacting on the foreshore.

The roadworks, scheduled to commence mid-August with completion by early December, have been planned in the winter months to reduce inconvenience to the community and local businesses.

In the meantime, LandCorp and the City of Albany are progressing design guidelines for the Middleton Beach Activity Centre, as well as the Foreshore Management Plan, which will go out to the community for comment later this year.
