- Construction underway for second stage of Southern Grove Primary School
- Stage 2 set to be completed by 2019 and will be able to accommodate 540 students
- State Budget includes a total of $468.7 million to build and improve WA public schools
Construction on the second stage of Southern Grove Primary School, in the fast-growing suburb of Southern River, is well underway, as part of the McGowan Labor Government's $468.7 million investment in schools across Western Australia.
The school opened this year and currently has 91 kindergarten and pre-primary students enrolled.
The second stage will open in 2019 with a projected enrolment of 294 students ranging from kindergarten to Year 6.
Students at the new primary school will learn in modern facilities which will include an early childhood teaching block, three general teaching blocks, an inclusive education room and art/craft room, a music classroom, a library and an administration block with an adjoining dental therapy centre.
