- WA Government committed to keeping Western Australians safe during emergencies
- World-class upgrade for the State's source of authoritative emergency information
- Plans for faster, personalised and targeted emergency information
The McGowan Government is searching for innovative, future-focused emergency public information industry leaders across the globe to deliver a new cutting-edge Emergency WA.
Stage one of the request is now open for responses as part of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services' Next Generation Warnings project.
Emergency WA is the State's single source of authoritative, accurate and timely information during emergencies. Since the site was launched in 2016, it has attracted more than 68 million page views and, in 2021-22, more than 5,700 alerts and warnings were delivered.
A new and improved Emergency WA will help keep Western Australians safe through the many natural hazards the State experiences every year.
Enhancements to Emergency WA will include personalised, real-time and predictive hazard information, a mobile application, customisable notifications to in-home and wearable smart devices about nearby incidents and nationally consistent warnings.
Greater automation of emergency information will ensure people can make informed decisions quicker to keep their family safe.
To help shape the platform and to meet the needs of all Western Australians, consultation has been undertaken with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, those living with disabilities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Further information about the application process can be found on Tenders WA.
