  • School to cater for families in the popular suburb

Education Minister Tony Buti today officially opened Landsdale Gardens Primary School in Perth's northern suburbs.

The new $24.7 million primary school can accommodate 540 students from Kindergarten to Year 6, easing enrolment pressure on surrounding schools and providing for future growth in student demand.

The school has five state-of-the-art teaching blocks, featuring a dedicated Kindergarten and Pre-primary block, an education support classroom for students with special educational needs, and art and science classrooms.

Further modern facilities include an administration block, library resource centre, staff room, undercover assembly area with a music room and canteen, playground, hardcourts, and shared use oval.

The name of the school is a nod to the former market gardens in the area that were developed into residential lots in the 1990s.

Students at Landsdale Gardens Primary School will learn AUSLAN as their Languages Other Than English (LOTE) language.

Since 2017 the McGowan Government has invested more than $900 million to build and open 30 new primary schools and 9 secondary schools. Landsdale Gardens Primary School is one of five new schools to be officially opened during 2023.
