About us
The Mental Health Commission helps people in Western Australia have good mental health and stay safe from alcohol and other drug‑related harm by improving services so they are modern, effective and focused on helping people recover and feel supported.
We do this by:
- supporting programs that promote wellbeing and help people early
- providing and funding services that support people when they need help
- improving research, policies and the way systems work.
We value:
- respect for individuals and culture
- working together and supporting each other
- involving and engaging others
- ownership, transparency and accountability
- fair and ethical decisions
- having a focus on improvement.
We also provide support to the Mental Health Advocacy Service, Mental Health Tribunal and the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist.
If you’re interested in working for an organisation that makes a positive difference in the community, the Mental Health Commission is a great place to work – noting that it is not a clinical service or service provider, and this traineeship is office based with no patient contact.
