Mr Matthew Martin is the Director – Consumer Policy and Market Frameworks and has held executive positions in Energy Policy WA and its former entities since 2013. Mr Martin joined the previous Office of Energy in 2005.
The Consumer Policy and Market Frameworks team is responsible for policy issues impacting on end use consumers and regulatory frameworks pertaining to wholesale and retail energy market operations within the State. Consumer advocacy is a more recent area of focus for the team and broader organisation with the appointment of a Senior Adviser – Consumer Policy and Advocacy supported by a dedicated funding allocation for this purpose.
Mr Martin is a public sector professional with expertise in policy analysis and energy sector regulation. He has also held positions within the consumer affairs and resources portfolios for the Western Australian Government.
