Melissa has more than 16 years’ experience in senior leadership roles across the Western Australian public sector, providing strategic advice on key State and National priorities. Her work has included engagement with National Cabinet, Royal Commissions, Commonwealth funding negotiations and a range of Parliamentary inquiries and taskforces.

At the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Melissa has led whole-of-Government responses to complex issues, including natural disaster recovery and the implementation of native title agreements.

Before joining the Department, she worked at the former Department of Sport and Recreation designing and delivering inclusion programs, and has also worked in the not-for-profit community services sector. She brings a strong community focus and deep understanding of service-delivery to her leadership. 

Melissa holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Anthropology, Sociology and Human Services).
