Sophie Sharpe joined the Department of the Premier and Cabinet in August 2026, as the Acting Assistant Director General, State Services. Sophie’s experience spans more than 20 years in the Australian Public Service, with expertise in executive leadership, governance, national security and whole-of-government coordination.
Sophie has served as Deputy Secretary Executive at the Department of Home Affairs, supporting Ministers and senior leaders on some of the Government’s most significant priorities. She has also held roles within the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the Australian Federal Police, Department of Defence and Attorney-General's Department.
Most recently, Sophie was the Director of Reform and Delivery at the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration.
Sophie has a Bachelor of Arts (Asian Studies).
