Marlissa White: Western Australian School-based Apprentice the Year 2026 winner

This award is presented to a student who is undertaking a Certificate II or above qualification as a part time school-based apprentice or trainee. It recognises the student’s commitment to their formal studies at school, and in the workplace.

Entering into a male-dominated industry did not deter Marlissa from pursuing a career in the automotive industry. She’s always had an interest in understanding how cars and boats operate and has a personal goal to rebuild her own vehicles one day, which is why this school-based apprenticeship was ideal for her. Currently employed by WesTrac, and undertaking one of their first ever traineeships, Marlissa is developing personally and professionally and enjoys inspiring others to consider a VET pathway.

This award was sponsored by the WA Construction Training Fund.
