This administrative agreement (the Agreement) sets out how the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) and the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) will interact with each other in relation to regulatory resource approvals services.

DEMIRS is responsible for regulating mining, petroleum and geothermal activities occurring in Western Australia under the Mining Act 1978 (WA) (Mining Act) and Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967 (WA), Petroleum Pipelines Act 1969 (WA) and Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982 (WA) (together, the Mining/Petroleum Acts).
