Kaya,

I am proud to introduce our 2026–2027 Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

This plan represents an important step in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation and reflects our responsibility as custodians of places of deep cultural, spiritual and historical significance. We acknowledge that the lands on which our cemeteries are located are First Nations lands, and we honour the enduring connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to Country.

Our RAP provides a clear framework to strengthen relationships, deepen cultural understanding, and create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It builds on the foundations we have already established, including our stewardship of the Aboriginal Keeping Place at Karrakatta Cemetery and our partnership in the management of Gnangara Aboriginal Cemetery, and guides how we continue to work respectfully alongside communities.

Importantly, this plan is more than a document. It is a commitment to listening, learning, and embedding culturally inclusive practices across everything we do. It sets a pathway to ensure our services are safe, respectful, and responsive to the needs of all communities we serve.

Reconciliation is a shared responsibility, and we are dedicated to achieving meaningful and lasting outcomes through genuine partnerships and everyday action. I look forward to the positive impact this journey will continue to have for our organisation and the broader community.
