Mining and mineral exploration has occurred in Western Australia for more than 150 years resulting in many historic workings being abandoned. Many of these features remain undocumented.
The Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration encourages industry and the community to report abandoned mine features. Information provided will assist the department to identify risks and prioritise programs in line with the Abandoned Mine Policy (2016).
