The Western Australian Premier’s WACE Scholarship (the Scholarship) provides successful international Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) graduates with support for their living, travel and study expenses through a total payment of:
- $50,000 for up to two international WACE graduates with the highest academic achievement
- $30,000 for up to 30 high-achieving international WACE graduates
The Scholarship is provided to support international WACE graduates who commence undergraduate or tertiary pathway studies in-person at one of Western Australia's five universities or as part of a packaged pathway course to one of these universities.

Who is eligible
Show moreTo be eligible for the Western Australian Premier's WACE Scholarship, an international student must:
- Not be an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident;
- Have completed their WACE at an approved offshore School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) school within 12 months of submitting an application for the Scholarship or be an offshore Year 12 WACE student who is on track to complete their WACE within the next 12 months;
- Intend to enrol or be enrolled at a Western Australian university or tertiary pathway provider full-time as an international student, with studies commencing in the 2025 or 2026 academic year; and
- Be studying a course of at least one-year (two consecutive semesters or three consecutive trimesters) in length at a WA university or tertiary pathway provider, depending on the stream applied for.
Before receiving the Scholarship, successful applicants must:
- Have commenced studies onshore at their selected Western Australian university or Western Australian tertiary pathway provider in the Semester for which they are applying;
- Provide a copy of their Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from their selected Western Australian university or tertiary pathway provider;
- Have attendance in their enrolled course confirmed past the relevant census date; and
- Provide evidence of their Australian bank account.
Who is not eligible
Show moreStudents who are not eligible for the Western Australian Premier’s WACE Scholarship include:
- Citizens and permanent residents of Australia;
- Students who completed their WACE in Australia (onshore);
- Students who completed their WACE offshore more than 12 months prior to submitting an application for the Western Australian Premier’s WACE Scholarship;
- Students who are studying a course of less than one-year duration; and
- Students who do not meet other eligibility criteria described in the Guidelines.
How to apply

- Go to SmartyGrants Portal.
- Click on the ‘Start a submission’ link.
- Complete the application registration process. You will receive an email confirming your reference number (WACE26####).
- Complete the online application form, ensuring all questions are responded to. You can save and return to the application form at any time before you submit the form (before the close date and time).
- Once your application is complete, click ‘Submit’.
- You will receive an automated email acknowledging that your application has been received. Without this acknowledgment, your application has not been submitted.
