Applications are now open for the 2026-27 Veterans Facilities Fund (VFF) Grant and will close 4pm AWST on 13 January 2027.
Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs) play a vital role in supporting Western Australia’s veteran community. They provide spaces for recognition, commemoration, social connection, advocacy, health and wellbeing services and community engagement. Many of these ESOs are facing funding challenges, limiting their ability to upgrade ageing infrastructure that supports the WA veteran community. VFF grants are intended to assist in addressing these funding challenges.
The $4 million Veterans Facilities Fund is a two-year pilot program providing financial assistance to Western Australian ESOs to undertake remediation, repair and other improvement works to ageing facilities and memorial sites across the State, keeping them safe, accessible and fit-for-purpose.
The objectives of VFF grants are to support projects which:
- Enable WA veterans and families of veterans (the WA veterans community) to meet, celebrate and commemorate at dedicated facilities and memorial sites that are safe and fit-for-purpose
- Preserve and provide access to information about Australia’s wartime heritage, to support community education and commemoration
- Encourage current and future veterans to engage with the ESO community
- Enhance the capability and capacity of ESOs to support and/or deliver programs and initiatives improving veteran health and wellbeing.
